Mzima Springs

Location: Tsavo

Mzima Springs is a must-do family excursion when visiting the Tsavo National Park. Your children will be amazed at how the spring magically appear from the ground!

The clean spring water flows underground from the famous Chyulu Hills. The spring is an oasis in the middle of the Savanna paradise where loads of wildlife call home.

This Oasis is home to numerous natural trees like the fig tree.  Elephants, zebras, monkeys and even the lions can be spotted in the bush. Your kids will absolutely love the underwater viewing tank that allows a sneak peek into the clear spring waters. They will excitedly call out as they spot hippos, crocodiles and loads of fish that live in the spring.

It is absolutely awesome that the spring flows downstream for approximately 2 kilometres downstream where the crisp clean water disappears below the ground surface again!

A park ranger is on hand to give the rich history as the entire family walks through a paved trail around the spring.
